Rorke’s Drift Battlefield » 22-23 January 1879 After the Battle of Isandlwana the Zulu reserves, about 4000 warriors in total, attacked the British Commissariat and Hospital at the Mission station at Rorke’s Drift. Approximately 140 soldiers, mainly from “B” Company, 2nd Battalion 24th Regt fought for 11 hours to repel the attack earning 11 Victoria Crosses in the process.
