Aquila Private Game Reserve

Aquila Safari Lodge is a 4 star establishment in the Southern Karoo. The reserve is a 10,000 hectare conservancy in the southern Karoo, and home to the big 5 legends of the wilderness – elephant, lion, buffalo, leopard and rhino. Aquila Game Reserve is the closest private game reserve to Cape Town, being a short flight from the Cape Town. Aquila is located in the historic Touws River town, in a valley between the Langeberg and the Outeniqua Mountains in the Karoo.

Aquila offers a wide variety of safaris – day trip safaris, horseback safaris, quad bike safari, overnight and fly-in safaris. There are other activities on offer like 4 x 4 trails, fishing and themed weekend breakaways.

Nestled in the heart of the Klein Karoo lies Inverdoorn Game Reserve. In 2012, the reserve became the number one safari destination within the Western Cape. The Big Five private game reserve boasts with thrilling adventure on it’s 10 000-hectare reserve and accommodates the members of the Big Five – lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhino. The thriving game and bird life offers visitors usual sightings and diverse landscapes, including herds of eland, gemsbok, zebra and hippos. Inverdoorn is the largest Big 5 game reserve and safari destination close to Cape Town, hosting more wild animals than any other private game reserve in the region.
